Bat of the day - Madagascar Sucker-footed Bat (Myzopoda aurita)
This bat species is endemic to Madagascar.Their prominent feature, and the origin of their name, is the horse-shoe shaped suction pads on the thumbs and soles, this bat species is very similar to Myzopoda schliemanni, which is also endemic to Madagascar and is different from the known species based on coloration, measurements and cranial characteristics.
Oh Madagascar, you’re too cool for school.
